JENDER’s Inaugural General Assembly Meeting on July 12
JENDER (The Association of Generator Manufacturers and Power Systems), established to unveil the global potential of Turkish generator manufacturers, enhance the perception of Turkish brands, and position these manufacturers as more effective players, held its first general assembly meeting on July 12.
Aiming to showcase the strength and potential of Turkey’s generator manufacturing industry to the world, JENDER represents the Turkish generator and power systems manufacturing sector, which has a turnover of $1.5 billion and exports to nearly 180 countries, as the "Source of Uninterrupted Energy and Power."
SECTOR STRENGTH AND GOALS
The Turkish generator manufacturing industry accounts for 6% of the global diesel generator sector and ranks second worldwide in the 75-375 kVA power range. Turkish generator manufacturers, members of JENDER, hold a competitive position globally among the largest generator producers. In Turkey, over 20 major manufacturers provide direct employment to 10,000 individuals and indirect employment to 40,000 more. Overall, the sector offers job opportunities to more than 100,000 people through over 1,000 producers and suppliers.
The sector aims to deliver Turkish-branded generators to 200 countries worldwide, currently holding a 5% share in the global market with $800 million in domestic and export sales. Diesel generator exports contribute 2.4% to Turkey’s total exports.
Mr. Rıdvan Özer, Chairman of the JENDER Board, stated, “As JENDER, we will continue our efforts to represent Turkey’s generator and power systems manufacturing sector in the best possible way on a global scale and enhance the quality and reputation of Turkish-branded generators. Our goal is to advance our sector to a more competitive position in global markets and positively contribute to our country's economic balance.”
